Lexia Reading Core5

We are using Lexia Core5 in our classroom to build reading skills. Our goal is to get every student to the end of 1st grade skills by the end of the year. This program can be logged on and used at home for extra practice. Getting started is easy:

For Computer, go to www.lexiacore5.com
* Create a bookmark or favorite for this web address
* Adobe Flash Player is required to fun this program
For tablets, download the free Lexia Reading Core5 app.

The first time your child uses Core5 you will need to help set it up. To do this you will need my email address: [email protected]

Your child can then log in using the student username and password they use daily at school.

It is very important that your child work without ANY help from others while using Core5. All of the work your child does at home is recorded and reported to school. This means I can see when help is needed and provide additional instruction at school.

Room 10 Reminders

Homework goes home every Monday in your child's homework folder and is due back every Friday morning. No exceptions. .

All assigned homework are lessons that have been gone over in class. Students will need help reading homework directions, although it should look familiar to them as the same practice has been assigned in class the prior week.

Library books are due every Wednesday.

Our classroom is a NO TOY ZONE. Shake down your student on the way to school for hidden toys. This will help keep them focused throughout the year.

Fun Fridays

Our first grade will begin having Fun Fridays! In order for students to be invited to attend Fun Friday, they must have all class and homework assignments completed on time as well as good behavior for the week. Please encourage your child to complete all assignments and homework. Students are responsible for keeping track of their homework, readers, library books and back packs. This responsibility starts in Kindergarten and will follow them throughout their life. The best support we can give them is a safe place to put their things and gentle reminders to turn items in on time.
